the "Pen-F" f1.4/40mm is one of my favorite lenses, amazing performer! Yes, this one was taken wide open. It's a halfframe lens, on a digital camera with APS-C sensor, much like on it's original Pen-F camera, gives a FOV similar to a 60mm lens on a 35mm film / "FF" camera. I also love my M-Rokkor f2/40mm, both on "FF" and APS-C
