Finally a chance to process and render another Hasselblad photo ...

Hasselblad 500CM + Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8 T*
ACROS 100

There's simply something luscious about 6x6. 🙂
Enjoy! Thanks for looking, comments always appreciated.

great choice of background imho - location could be the corner of any office (for example) ...only grumble might be the white cable along the skirting board, realism but just a tad distracting

tonality is great, fitting

Brompton's make for amazingly contorted bike, almost deconstructionist, likely makes an interesting shadow or silhouette too

best

Thank you!

If Brompton ever get around to marketing their own electric, I'll give it serious consideration. Until then, I'll stick with my Powabyke and Gocycle...

Inspiring, Godfrey! And it looks like there are some miles on the tires! Good for you!

I guess I'll have to post one of my NWT to this thread with my 503CXi now... but I think it'll wait until the snow's gone. Or maybe not! <grin>

Neat looking machines!

There is an outfit in New York City (NYCeWheels.com) that is selling an electric conversion for the Brompton (NYCeWheels - Electric motor kit for the Brompton folding bicycle. It's not as elegant as a built from scratch electric bicycle, but when I saw one last Summer it looked like a nicely integrated setup.

The Brompton, to me, is my solution to wanting a bicycle I can easily fit in the trunk of my car so I can go places where I want to ride, or have a small, light vehicle when I need to shunt around town easily. I'm not so confident in my dotage about riding a pedal-powered bicycle in commute traffic anymore; there are a lot of very aggressive drivers out there who are not minding small, hard to see things on the road sufficiently and I don't heal as quickly as once I did.

An electric bicycle or scooter, however, I think I could use for commute purposes and may actually prove to be both a financial and environmental advantage. I might buy one this year instead of more camera equipment ... Perish the thought! ;-)

Thanks Roger!

Yes indeed: I've ridden the Brompton far more in the past nine months than I ever rode the Bianchi that's still in my closet. The Bianchi is up for sale, just waiting until March-April to advertise it as that's when people get excited to buy bicycles around here.

I need a good bag for the Brompton to carry my cameras in. Just can't make up my mind which of the ones that fits their mounting I prefer...

The thing that worries me is that Brompton seem very clear on any conversion invalidating their waranty, which is fair enough but means that anything breaking will be the buyer's problem. As my two bykes, together, cost less than one pedal only Brompton, that's a risk too many for my taste.

I'm glad to hear that yours is working out for you, though.

I'm sure that any electric conversion on nearly any make bicycle invalidates the original manufacturer's warranty, and that you're limited to the warranty provided by the outfit doing the conversion. That said, I've never worried about such things, or even taken note of them. Unless it's a frame breaking or a weld coming undone, I've always just had a bicycle repaired or fixed it myself.

I bought the Brompton so I would do more pedaling, actually, and get some exercise. When I had the Prius, I could throw the Bianchi into the back of the car and take it somewhere to ride, and I did that occasionally. But that's not possible since I bought the SLK and the Bianchi hasn't been out of the closet since.

The Brompton does cost a bit, I'll grant you that. But based on my test rides on several different folding makes, and test folds, it's the only bicycle that suited my needs ... most important, of course, being that it fit in the SLK's trunk!

For me, a pedal bike is for fun, sport, occasional transportation, and exercise; an electric bike would be more of a transportation solution.

First of all - OMG, if the Brompton folds up that SMALL then why don't I have one yet?

Second - I like the photo. It would be interesting to see how it would compare to the same composition with a full on white backdrop. For example with a white sheet or large paper to pin to the wall behind and cover the floor as well.

Finally, SLK's have huge trunks (boots) if the top is up. You must live somewhere sunny if you can't fit such a small bike in there. When I had mine I did trips to the alps with a suitcase and a non-folding regular race bike in there (both wheels off). Only possible with the roof up though.

Cheers,
Rob
