The thing that worries me is that Brompton seem very clear on any conversion invalidating their waranty, which is fair enough but means that anything breaking will be the buyer's problem. As my two bykes, together, cost less than one pedal only Brompton, that's a risk too many for my taste.
I'm glad to hear that yours is working out for you, though.

I'm sure that any electric conversion on nearly any make bicycle invalidates the original manufacturer's warranty, and that you're limited to the warranty provided by the outfit doing the conversion. That said, I've never worried about such things, or even taken note of them. Unless it's a frame breaking or a weld coming undone, I've always just had a bicycle repaired or fixed it myself.
I bought the Brompton so I would do more pedaling, actually, and get some exercise. When I had the Prius, I could throw the Bianchi into the back of the car and take it somewhere to ride, and I did that occasionally. But that's not possible since I bought the SLK and the Bianchi hasn't been out of the closet since.
The Brompton does cost a bit, I'll grant you that. But based on my test rides on several different folding makes, and test folds, it's the only bicycle that suited my needs ... most important, of course, being that it fit in the SLK's trunk!
For me, a pedal bike is for fun, sport, occasional transportation, and exercise; an electric bike would be more of a transportation solution.
