Well here I am - in front of my computer while the Blizzard of January 2016 rages outside my Long Island window. So for a little fun I thought I'd post this photo I shot on 1/17/2016 on 2nd Ave, Lower East Side, NYC. It was shot on Kodak TMY 120 film, f/8 1/125, while on my way to the RFF NYC Camera Olympics Meet-Up at the Puck Fair Bar. Shout out to my photo posse. Good times. 🙂

Anyway, this photo needs a funny caption. So let the Photo Caption Contest begin. The best caption (as judged by RFF members) will win a signed and numbered copy of my book, Never Seeing Nothing. However, if you already have a copy, I'll substitute one of my extra 12 x 12" Blurb books. The contest will end on Monday 1/25/2016 at 9 pm NY EST.

this photo is fun and I am having fun, some more:

'Be Here Now'

'Now or Never'

'Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is' ( Ernest Hemingway )

'There is always, always, always something to be thankful for'

'Wish special thanks and much appreciation'

Thanks for the captions!

Hey the rest of RFF, come out and play in the snow. 🙂

I thought this would inspire more people to have some fun. Maybe I didn't chose the best photo. I don't know -- I think it's funny. Here's this dog in the city and he doesn't get to see a tree that often -- especially one that's not walled off by an iron gate -- and certainly not one at such an optimal height. For me it's a story...

i'm sooooo Pleased it was a Pug, Dan
Having Two pugs ... down to only One now at 17 and a half yrs
it's a special photo for moi

Thanks, Helen. Your caption was very funny. Sorry to hear you're down to one pug.

I have a pug, too -- her name is Poppy and she's 15.5. She was the runt of the litter -- which worked out well because she's stayed on the small side. Poppy's often unsteady on her legs, but she's always at my wife's feet and looks forward to her food. I usually give her a bite from my plate at dinner. My wife grew up with pugs. As a child she had a pug who would bark if she heard the name Nixon. Then there was Zippy who turned out to be a gay pug. I surprised my wife with with Poppy in 2000.

This is my caption, and I am sure to win:
"1/17/2016, 2nd Ave, Lower East Side, NYC".
And BTW, any other caption, in my humble opinion, would be spurious.
