Photography contest underway

Northwoods Gallery in Chester is sponsoring a photography contest open to residents in Plumas, Lassen and Tehama counties. Owner Heather Long says there are four categories: landscape and nature; details and macro; portraits of local people; and digital darkroom/special effects. There will be 25 winners in all, with cash prizes for the top six places. All winning entries will be featured in shows in September and October. Entry deadline is July 31, 2005.
