I just watched the DVD version of the riveting '06 documentary Manufactured Landscapes. It profiles Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky. The movie is not so much about how he makes photographs, but the philosophy of his work, and stunningly disturbing still images and related video of what he photographs.
The movie, I read, won a prize at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. Burtynsky is also shown in the movie giving his lecture at the 2005 TED convention.
Burtynsky is shown at work using a 4x5 Linhof and a Mamiya 7.

For Canadians with access to TVOntario, this will be shown on May 18th at 9pm. If you plan to tune in, for god sakes, don't miss the opening tracking shot.
Here's a picture of him that I took while he was signing my copy of the book:
He was amused by my Yashica TLR and asked me what film I was using!
