Photo Equip grip question

The black M grip (thanks Joe) and my black M6 match very well, but then I don't see how you can say the picture in your link looks bad, so who knows?

It looks just like the GMP grips I have lying around somewhere in a drawer, that I paid $10 for the 2 of them from a camera store in my travels a few years ago. I used them at one time because of the centered tripod thread, to which I attached a RRS dovetail plate. Then I got a regular RRS Leica plate. For me a Leica doesn't need a grip, so I had taken an L wrench and removed the grip part anyway.

Don't you see the off-black finish on the grip in that picture? I'm not color blind, so I can say these things..

Black vision is not affected by color blindness. That being said, I have the chrome and black versions, and like joe and frank said, they are very well made and IMHO, look good on my M2 and M6, but YMMV. You could always get the plastic Leica grip for an "OEM" look. I handled Rover's M6 with the TA rapidgrip, and that is nice too.

The B&H price is quite good - less than what photoequip or Tamarkin charged for it when it was still being made. The grip on the current photoequip website is "carbon fiber" but for me the metal one is better made.

Looking at the enlarged image, I can see what you mean by off-black. I have one sitting in a box that I got as a package deal with my M6 and it matches quite well.

If anyone is looking for one, I'll sell mine for $50 including Paypal and shipping in the US. 🙂

those grips....

those grips....

I find the PhotoEqup grips well made but the LEAST effective if you're looking to hold the camera steady. They have the smallest grip portion of any of the available options. My first choice is the Abrahamson grip, but it has no tripod socket and you can't but the camera down level. Sure feels good in your hand though. Second choice is the Leica original , even tho it's plastic.
