Anyone else want to strengthen their moral resolve by posting their RF- or photo-related New Year's resolutions here for the rest of RFF to see?

Mine is: In 2006 I will work harder to create opportunities for myself to do good work, rather than just accept whatever situations come along.

I figure this is a broad resolution, in that there are ways to apply it at the equipment level, the technique level, and the "situational" level (i.e., what kinds of photo situations I seek out.)

Next...?

I want to become the next Spiratone, Burke & James, or Ponder & Best, beginning in 2006. By that, I mean that I want Mattocks Photography to become a valuable resource to the photographic community for photographic specialties for which there is not necessarily mass-market demand.

Happy New Year,

Bill Mattocks

I don't do resolutions, but even so I'll risk two:

* use my gear

* what Jim said about working to create situations rather than just accept circumstances

I'm not a resolution person either, but my photographic goals for the next year are:
1. Shoot a lot more film
2. Use some of that slide film I have around
3. Not rush my shooting

Peter

1) lose weight
2) get more sleep
3) get a mistress
4) shoot more
5) don't buy any more cameras
6) finish some of my projects

😎

A few modest resolutions and goals:

1. Use my MF cameras more in 2006

2. (maybe) set up my old enlarger and do some wet prints

3. Explore some new (to me) B&W films

4. Shoot some slide film

5. Enjoy photography without becoming obsessed with it 😀

Well, here's a short list

1) work out more...with my soon-to-be 70-200/2.8 L, I'll need some if I plan on carting it everywhere for assignments. Besides, buff guys with loaded Domke's get more...attention... than those who aren't 😀.

2) Try to get better (read: impress my editors more)

3) Get a new rangefinder that doens't give me crap like my Kiev and get out and use it... It's either a Bessa R or a Leica IIIc right now.

That ought to do it for now...

Happy New Year,
Bob Clark

to shoot a roll a week [probably 2 rolls every other week] of various landmarks of Southren California
do flash/low light shots in prep for my oldest son's wedding in July 2006

Hmmm, photo-related resolutions... all right, I'll give it a shot.
  1. Minimize my gear; I'd like to get down to one rangefinder, one 35mm SLR kit, one MF SLR, and my TLRs (and one digicam); and
  2. Start developing my own black-and-white film.
That's it for now, I guess.

Funny, rather to the opposite from JLW, I will try and capture rather than create moments/images. Most of my "best" work has been with models and you know that such work differs enormously from street photography. I really want to do more street stuff.
