The vacation date is not approaching fast enough! :bang:

In a little over a month (first week of May), my wife and I will be visiting there for a week. Been reading up, usual guidebooks. Any suggested photo ops from our local residents or others familiar with these cities?

Gastronomic tips are welcome too! 😀

I usually don't figure out what gear to bring until the night before.

Ray,

I was in Prague in 1990. I loved it. I wish I could recommend a restaraunt, but I know its changed a great deal. Food was hard to come by when I was there. Restaraunts were not stocked well and were usually out of almost everything on the menu. The best meal I had was in the Jewish Town Hall, just near the cemetary. Four courses for whatever the exchange rate of $12 was at the time. I wish I could have eaten there every night. I lived on bread, cheese, yogurt, I bought in a grocery store, and some emergency Power Bars I always carried when travelling. The beer was outstanding. I hope that Budweiser USA never takes over the original Budvar/Budweiser brewery, though g-d knows they have tried.

I would kind of like to go back and see how much everything has changed. May can still be chilly there at night. Bring layers. I also would recommend getting a good walking map of Prague. It was a great city to explore.

In Prague, just walk everywhere. It's quite amazing and been restored beautifully. Definitely no shortage of restaurants now! Be sure to go up to the castle grounds which are enormous- hugh cathedral, museum, exhibition hall and gardens.
Just spend time wandering around the city- you're sure to love it. I hope to go back sometime.

Jeff
