Photograper friend of HC-B, Capa, etc...Article.

What a story, what a woman, what a photographer!! Very interesting! I would say she was an eclectic photographer, portraits, reportage, fashion...excellent work. And how many special people she met!
Thanks for the link!

"the dilemma and the strength of photography... it is the easiest medium in which to be competent, but it is the hardest medium in which to have a personal vision that is...identifiable. "
Chuck Close

Like so many she achieved the first, like so few she also achieved the second.
Many thanks, David.

Thanks you all for the suggestions. This is the kind of thread I like very much because inspiring.
Gear talks are pleasant and good, photographer’s stories are interesting snd inspiring.

The other lady photographer to inspire was Jane Bown; read all about her here:-

I'm sure you've heard of her but thought this would be a good place to post a reminder. Regards, David

PS And she used an Olympus OM-1: a paragon...

As an ailurophile, I cannot resist drawing everyone's attention to Jane Bown: Cats. A small book of 100 cat portraits, ideally demonstrating that this exceptionally good photographer had the same talented eye for her feline friends as she did for her portraits of people.

Definitely a must have in the libraries of all cat aficionados.
