Just for fun, shoot with a simple film camera and standard or short tele prime.. Strictly no flash and window light only. Good luck.

Hi John, she tried colour and didn't like it. I have never seen any of her colour work but for a brief time she shot colour for the Observer.

Well, she was good no matter how she did it.

I think she used a Spotmatic before the OM.

Thanks for posting this John, I had never heard of her before, but more than a few of those photos are familiar. Very nice work.

One from My OM1n, just to keep the camera correct and true to her working method.

Her work is/was amazing. OM1 with either a 50 or 85 at f2.8, natural light, and magic happens.
According to one or more of her books (not at home, to cite a reference at present) she would have a light bulb with her for those occasions the light was impossible to work with but, yes, she certainly preferred to, and most often used ambient light. At this, she was unsurpassed. She mentions being fond of the Tessa (sic) lens in the Rolleiflex she used during earlier days. Moving to 135 wasn't necessarily her preference, from my distant memory, but as it's been ages since I've read my copies of her work I might be wrong on that point?.
