Does being a guitar betty count?
Does being a guitar betty count?
I don't play, but I used to sing and I know a lot of musicians. Also, having been a metalhead for much of my formative years, I have a strange affinity for guitar players, especially if they have long hair and wear tight pants.
In college I worked for the entertainment section of the campus newspaper (for people who care, Stephen Glass was the editor in chief of the Daily Pennsylvanian at the time) and through my "press" connections met luminaries such as Skid Row, Alice in Chains, and Van Hagar. The bassist of Alice in Chains invited me onto the bus, but I didn't take him up on the offer.
My brother was in a band full time for a long time during and after college.

It was fun being "with the band" when I went to shows. Because my brother's band was based in Charlottesville, I also followed and met the Dave Matthews Band before they got big (not that they'd have any idea who I am). It isn't as much fun going to shows anymore if they're in stadiums, or if I can't get backstage.
