By pure chance I came across this photographer, Peter Miller, who lives and works at photography in northern Vermont.

Back in the fifties when he was in the army, he had the misfortune of being assigned, as a photographer in the Signal Corps, to live in Paris for two years. As difficult as that must have been, he rose to the challenge. 🙂

On his website he has some wonderful images that he recorded of life among those who bring in the grape harvest in France.

See http://www.petermillerphotography.com

In his Vermont photos, he similarly documents the sometimes harsh life faced by some of its natives.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that this is the first time I've been moved to purchase a large print by another photographer.

What a nice discovery. I especially like the Vermont Farm Women and Vermont People series, but all are interesting and engaging. He seems to be a very committed photographer who cares about his subjects. I also like the way his work is presented. Very inspirational. Thanks for sharing it.

I spent the last hour perusing the link and enjoyed every moment of it. I liked all the entries especially the 2 on his first visit to Paris. Unquestionably superb!

thanks for the link. #22 (bare trees in snow) in the Vermont Series is gorgeous. Also #7, #9, #19 and #24 from the French Harvest portfolio.
