Didn't realize the many photographers around until I almost left the square: It was a snap back over my shoulder in a hurry.

Finally developed and scanned the film from the XA2 my daughter was shooting.

I think this is the first shot on film my daughter has ever taken. This was taken right before I took the above shot of her. The XA2 is hers now. Seems like a great camera for a child. Just enough controls on the camera to have to remember think about it, while allowing the photographer to really just concentrate on the composition. My son (in the background) has one too now and is already rolling film on plastic reels in a dark box.

Shawn, that is just brilliant! Good shot generally and insanely great for first ever. She must be very excited to try more, and I assume you're super-proud as a photographer-father, as you should be. I hope your kids' interest in film photography continues to grow.

Yes, I was very surprised when I took a look at the negatives. I was expecting the typical cut off head and so on. She ended up with a very nice shot and is enjoying the process. I'm going to have the two printed as a sort of diptych as they go together. Very proud of her.

Thanks,

Shawn
