Holguin, Cuba - The six day Romerias de Mayo cultural gathering last week had 217 different events, several of which were photo related. This was from a workshop on dance photography. Since I cannot photograph in a scrum, I just stepped by and watched.

I always find my visual attenuation kicks up a few notches when I give up on understanding what is verbally said, as happens when Cubans begin their rapid fire Spanish using much slang.

Incredible photo that says so much. And thanks for a liberal interpretation of the thread title. So many here appear to look down a tunnel when it comes to photo themes.

Thanks for your nice words. I remember what struck me there and then was how naturally they’d leave loaded weapons around in presence of kids, and especially how much admiration those kids displayed for men bearing weapons... sad
