Let's start a thread of posts...NOT discussions, arguments or your opinions on the old question of photography and art... Post either your own photos that you consider as art or post other fine examples so we can all learn.🙂

I have shown these before. They are from a local photographer whom I can only describe as an artist and he sells many of these photos to businesses and individuals as ART, and I happen to like these very much. So, here is my first example of photography as art:

Dave, this is one of my better photos in my opinion (although exposure could have been better). It received no comments when I posted some months ago. It's closing time at the museum, so I guess it fits the topic.

And I'll include this because it's a photo that a fellow RFFer from the other side of the globe requested a print of ... which I happily supplied. I was very surprised at the time but thinking back I remember Pitxu actually wanted a copy of this also. This image definitely encapsulates how I see and express my art.

Yes! I also have two photographs by Chris and am impressed with his powerful graphic sensibility and sense of irony while working within the documentary tradition.

Pickett, did it ever occur to you that photographs are, in their essence, "geometric abstract paintings"?

I have to give a nod to our own Chris Crawford. There are only two photo prints hanging on my walls (I favor geometric abstract paintings for wall art), and both are his.

Title: But is it Art ?

Thanks ray, that one made me laugh out loud. Great idea.

I also wanted to comment on the high quality of the examples you guys posted. Dave, the "split" view of the brothers is very effective. Paul, I already picked the photo you showed for comment in the gallery. Keith and RichC, beautiful examples. Keith I can see why someone asked for a print of that one.

OK, enough love from Philly, I gotta get back to work.
