Saturday was a day filled with strong rain, and there was no room for me to go out and take photos. This morning, however, the sun was beautifully out there, and sky was blue, and the humidity levels low. I took my family to the beaches, where thousands of people were already enjoying a pre-Mardi Grad Parade get-together. I shot about 24 exposures (color print film) with a Bessa T and a 90mm Summicron lens, and I also got some shots with the Fuji Natura P&S camera, which has a 24mm lens. Once back at home, and it was still barely 2:30pm, I took about 36 photos of my daughter with available light at the window with the Summicron and B&W film this time. Come to think of it, I took about 15 photos with the Argus C44 on Friday. That's a summary of my photography activity this weekend.

This was a lost weekend, spent writing report cards, reading marks sheets and typing on this computer. (Good thing it has internet!)

I spent until midnight yesterday, working on a course that will be offered online. It feels good to do your work for your profession, and then to enjoy our hobbies. Since my previous posting, I took another 15 photos of my daughters with flash (which I do not like to do), but this way I have something for their grandmothers to enjoy.

I drove 5 miles to take one picture and then drove back home because I was freezing. That was my photographic output this weekend. Depressing.

Brett and I got together Saturday afternoon. Brisk, but sunny and lots of people out and about, so a fair number of opportunites. Both of us should have something interesting from the street preacher, his supporters and counter "preachers" we saw at the University. Cold but a good time.

wow, I gotta drive five miles just to change my mind.... 😀

the bad news is I drive 40 miles one way for most of my photo shoots the good news is "freezing" is NOT in my dictionary 😱

Yesterday (Saturday) it rained all day long..... steady and cold! I stayed home.

Today the sun was out although it was exactly "warm" and the breeze didn't help but I drove to a local flea market with my IIIf BD Leica with one lens...... an uncoated Summar. I have it loaded with Arista EDU 200 Ultra.

I parked and walked toward the outdoor tables which were less than half occupied. The rather scruffy gentleman at the first table spotted my camera and immediately jumped up and walked toward his truck with his back to me. He's obviously camera shy and I must admit to being curious as to why that is. But, I ignored him as he clearly didn't want his picture taken.

Flea markets may be different where you live but the "customers" at this one are not the finest citizens you'll ever meet so it didn't take long for me to leave. I took only a couple of pictures and the first will be out of focus as I had it set for a relatively close hyperfocal distance and I'm sure what I wanted to take was too far away.

I stopped at a local strip mall on the way back and took a couple shots behind it of our "Big Peach" on a post. Back home the light on a small bush was highlighting the early blooms so I took a couple more. That was it. Now I need to burn the remaining 26 frames on something else.

I got out to do some photography yesterday (as I alluded to in the Yashica pron thread). My wife had an 8 hour study marathon with some classmates and I got out of the house to work on a sculpture at a local museum for a bit. Got out about 3:30 so the light was getting nice.

I souped the rolls today, and am now working on various other things. I also went to a camera show this morning and bought an IR filter. All in all, not a bad weekend.

It seems that many of us managed to squeeze in some photography this weekend. I am hoping each weekend that there is no strong rain so that I manage to do some photography.

Finally a weekend where I could get out and shoot what I wanted to shoot.

Today I spent wandering around downtown a bit. I ventured into Union Station (the local Train station a la "Amtrack" etc.) and shot a bit there. Then it was off to BCE Place for a bit.

I ran into a gentleman on the street shooting an Mamiya RZ; it looked a bit cumbersome but I know how briliant some of those 6x7 negs will look so it will be worth it 🙂 We both commented on the fact that in bitter cold like it was today, it may have been a bit more difficult for digital bodies to hold up to extended periods of time in the elements - not necessarily the bodies themselves but more so the batteries.

Tomorrow I'll dev some film (I've got a roll of Acros and a roll of Delta3200 that I shot at 6400).

Cheers
Dave

Next weekend is cleaning weekend. This weekend was 'lay around and do absolutely nothing productive' weekend. The weekend after that is 'start trying to find someone to go to pick up the enlarger with' weekend...and I'll mostly be doing a lot of photography. A headache all day today and my boyfriend complaining about his sore muscles from work had us staying in all day.

I'm thinking of going out tomorrow and Tuesday during the day to shoot a bit.

It was bitter cold upstate NY this weekend but I did drive around the countryside both Saturday and Sunday and shot out a roll of T-Max that was in the Bessa. Also took a few SLR shots - found a freshly painted barn with a bright new green metal roof - couldn't resist taking a "country postcard shot" with the F5 that's loaded with Ectachrome 100 Extra Color!

Okay output I guess, considering I didn't want to do any walking around....

Boy I can't wait for winter to get over!

I have to admit that we have no cold weather at all here in Penscaola. Some guys had no shirts on at the beach.

I took a wander through the local woods on Sunday afternoon with my Bessa R and CV 35/2.5 and ran through a roll of Agfa Silvertone 400. Processed the roll while having late lunch and then scanned. Got a few good ones out of the afternoon.

It startwed raining here at9pm Fri and rained continuos for 20 hours and we got 3.5" of rain so Sat was a bust but today was beautiful so after church I did some macro work of the daffodils in the yard

Heh, it was a nice sunny day after church here too, but let's just simply say it's a wee bit early for daffodils around here... 😉 Needed to go to a meeting about a co-housing organization we're considering joining so, while I had the CL stuffed into my pocket (just in case), there wasn't to be any shooting this afternoon. Gotta figure out how to convince them to add a wet darkroom to the common areas 🙂 I have at least two allies (a young couple too) so there's hope.

The weather here was lousy and worse yet the lighting was flat.....monotone gray. I couldn't buy a shadow if there was one to be found. Saturday I spent shooting at the Pike Place Market. It was the perfect opportunity to shoot some 3200 Delta using indoor available light.

Today brought no significant improvement so I spent the day in the darkroom printing working prints for a show in May. Trying to sort my negatives brought home the fact that I need to organize them soon if I want to maximize my selections for the show.

Damn...I'm trying to get away from this computer.
