Photography During This Weekend

Saturday was set aside for the P&S photography competition but the rain and wind made it impossible to get out. So I had a weekend spit between internet and tv instead. A cafe bar too.

shot a roll on saturday through the XA, in the station, on the train.. shot another roll through my new Bessa R to test it before putting it to serious work tomorrow. Took exactly one picture on sunday, of my girlfriend sitting in this year's first sun that actually gave some warmth. Spend most of sunday at a photo exposition/contest thing, took 3rd place. Had a pretty nice weekend overall, but I usually shoot more photos in the week than during weekends.. Will probably do tons this week as I have quite a bit of work to do for the university paper.

I spent my weekend grabbing any free moment from work to test out a J3 i sent to Brian to be serviced... After developing a few rolls i can say that with out a doubt Brian is my hero. It is a sweet lens and it really performs.

Sunday morning went for a walk to go on my project about old part of my town, discovered a couple of interesting corner, shot HP5. Plan to post a few pics next week end. In the afternoon finished the roll at Carnival Parade mainly with 75mm/2,5 which I rarely use, but nothing special. Trying now first time XP2 in my Bessa R, travelling for work to Tuscany till week end.

I shot some 200-250 photos this weekend (Sat and Sun) on my little trip to NYC. How's that for output? 😛

You must have blisters on your trigger finger!

RML: If it was for funa nd not for a job, then it was high output for most people at this time of the year. What did you try to capture?

I took my Fed 3b to my son's wrestling tournament (what a weird scene that is), unsure how many pics I had left on the roll, and didn't have a fresh roll with me (remember the old days when somebody always had an extra roll of film 😡) so it turned out I only had two shots left...fine...then I went to rewind, and was pre-occupied, kids all around me, and my knob must be stripped or something 'cause I wound for about two minutes, sometimes getting resistance sometimes not. Finally I opened up the back, and there is the loaded film staring me in the face. Most of the roll was ruined, lots of great snow pics lost. But the first few shots survived, albeit with a bit of flare (they are the "green ball" and the orange-coated child shots in my gallery). I don't know what's up with the Fed though... 🙁

Raid, I've never been to NYC before. My kid brother invited me to stay over for the weekend, which I did. I was just a tourist. Never made it north of 50th Str or west of 9th Ave. 🙂 B&H was as far west as I got, and a little further north than Times Square. Went to Brooklyn, though, so we could walk back over the Brooklyn bridge to Manhattan.

My trigger finger feels quite OK now. Especially the freezing wind was a problem. Had to keep the camera in my coat just so the body wouldn't freeze and suck out the power from the batteries. 🙂

I'm working on getting the RAWs developed right now. It's not going fast; I have a wife and kid who are eager for attention. 🙂
