Photography gear that does cause you GAS.

Medium format digital.

Having owned 6 different Fuji's over the years and hated every one of them I suspect I will struggle with the GFX cameras.
The Hasselblad's are lousy for handheld with adapted lenses because of the lack of an in-body mechanical shutter and very slow electronic shutter and I'm suss on the backup service in Australia from Hassleblad.

What prompted this GAS was how usable my TS-E lenses are on the larger format, but realistically my S1r and Fp-l will probably satisfy my needs for high resolution.
The GFX's are dirt cheap secondhand and the Hasselblads are cheaper than Leicas new and coming down second hand.
It doesn't help that there are no small fuji wideangles and the 28/4 Hassy is nothing special.
Think I'll just make the best with what I've got. Not that that thought ever stopped my GAS before...

I "desperately" need a Pentax Spotmatic.

Yes. Yes you do. There is no better value for the money in film cameras right now than a Spotmatic.

I have a Spotmatic and an SL (basically a Spotmatic without the meter, introduced as a replacement for the SV around 68-69). Both chrome. I had the SL serviced by Eric Hendrickson and it’s now one of my favorite cameras. I don’t need any more SLRs, but if I came across a good deal on a black SL, I’d have a hard time passing it up.

A Spottie and a Minolta SRT-101 were my first loves. I have owned half a dozen of both over the years but my last Spottie went to my grandson a couple of years back and I have never replaced it. I have seen a couple recently but they both needed some love and I must be getting a bit grumpy in my old age. It seems every time I pick one up I end up having to give it a complete overhaul. This time I would really like to find one in great condition, inside and out, where the overhaul has already been done and all I have to do is load film and enjoy the photos. A nice Spottie paired with a 28mm lens and I would be a happy camper. 😀
