I will be taking a group of photo students to Berlin, in the middle of February, for five days. We are interested in touring the city as well as visiting photo galleries. We would also be interested in meeting with photo artists who would be interested in chatting with students for a couple of hours about their work, the city, etc. Anyone here know how I should begin to make the right contacts? Thanks.

Lucasta,
Having just been to Berlin, I need to advise you to visit the photography museum, preferably on Thursday evening, when it's free from 18-22:00. It usually has a Helmut Newton exhibit, as the photographer donated a lot of his work to the city in his inheritance. I'm not a Newton fan at all, but even I had to admit they have very good work (particularly the portraits).
I'll let somebody else reply to the contact making part.
Peter.

It sounds like you should be contacting art schools in Berlin. For example this one: www.udk-berlin.de and see from there. They will surely help you out.
