Photography "just" for fun-

Hows it going Lynch, nice to see you've been over here for a while.

Now onward, the Hexar is a treat to behold, it really is. Comparing it to a Leica is a tough because they both are equally superb cameras in the right aspects. The Hexar is pretty much the M9 of the film world as of today:
- Titanium Top and Bottom
- AE / + a great meter
- Automatic Advance
and a great line of lenses built alongside it along with the countless other M and LTM lenses you can use on it.
-
It truly is a keeper whether for you or your wife, you may as well keep it for a while because you sell back price is almost garunteed to be higher then what you got it for.
-
And you know if your sell it Cullen is first in line.
But I'm second.

Thank you Ducky, for the constructive criticism/observation, and taking the time to check my stream- I have a bad habit of shooting way too much, and i can't weed out the "good ones/keepers" very well, so i just upload massive amounts of shots.

The recent film shots, those are like 10% of what i've shot recently w/ my FE2.

I also took a look. I was surprised not to see more of such things as traditional markets or mountain temples. Have you never visited them or did I just not browse enough?

someone above said they tend to shoot less but more selectively, making better images with film. that is SO true. i shot film for thirty years then went to digital because the industry said so (studio / glamour fashion stuff). now i'm onto film again, RF and MF because it is just far superior in reso, saturation, detail, crispness, contrast and tonal / dynamic range. when digital became the industry standard i shot hundreds of frames (?) when, as i reflect, i was really "bracketing" by 10 shots while the way we did in the old days with fewer shots either side of the measured frame. film makes you think, slow down, feel the Zen and be more a part of your day out and your tool while having fun or on the job. i still do studio jobs, on film, in my semi-retirement and the client is often unaware but very satisfied. currently i am shooting old kitchenware for a restaurant to fame and hang on the walls and the detail of the textures and surfaces is just so much better than digital.

but i am still looking for an RD-1s because i do like the everyday convenience of a snatch and grab camera in the glove box.

go film!

haha thanks- i don't think you looked enough, because i've done tons of farmers' markets and stuff like that, and a few temples as well. I'm in the USAF, and don't get to travel too much over here- and when i do go somewhere, it's usually Seoul- to visit the MANY great camera stores up there! :)
