Canada, eh.
It's Thanksgiving Day on Monday in Canada, so that means a long weekend! I'm off to visit my parents with my family and to my high school football team reunion. (I played defensive tackle.) I've packed my M6 and Bessa R2 with 40mm Rokkor, 50mm Summarit, and a 50mm CV f2.5 lens (that's waiting for me at the psot office), along with a Hexar AF, and Yshica T4. Hope to take some photos!

What are your photography plans for this weekend?

I'm supposed to go to a local club to see a band tonight. If that happens I'll tote along a RF and a few lenses, one of which will be a 90. I'll definitely be shooting at a soccer match on Saturday, using my motor-driven Nikon FM3A and most likely a 80-200mm f2.8 lens. I'm going to try to knock out a 35mm lens comparison using the Hexar AF, and the CV 35/2.5 and CV 35/1.7. As always there will be a RF camera somewhere on my person in between all that!

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

🙂

Oktoberfest is going on here with a beer tent downtown. Probably Leica M2 with Canon 50mm f1.8. and a Canon P with a J-12. B&W in the Leica and color print in the Canon P.

Also it is a full moon tonight. I will be shooting some moonlight shots with a Koni-Omega 200 with 58mm lens and a Contax IIa with 21mm Biogon. Both loaded with slide film and shot from a tripod as exposures will be in the 5 to 8 minute range.

Today I was shooting some fall colours on Reala 100 with the Nikon FM2n and 50mm macro, 105mm and 200mm. This weekend some family events -- probably Leica M2 + 35mm Ultron on Tri-X and digicam for col. Using the Bessa L with CV 21/4 to supplement everything. It's loaded with Superia 400 at the moment.

Is that the 105/2.5, Gene? I was shooting with mine today on D200 loaner (wrong lens to bring to try out the camera!). 🙂

It will be family events for me too. I'll take along my M4, CV 21/4, 35/2, 50/2 and 90/2.8. I'll likely be shooting Neopan 400 for most of the weekend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm heading for Mexico. Along with my Canon DSLR, I'm hauling my recently-rediscovered Signet 40 to give it a workout. When I get home again, I'll be looking to buy a Bessa R. Happily, I don't have to spend any time in the "Fume Room" processing and printing, thanks to a local C-41 processor who charges about $3.00 a roll to develop the film, and to a scanner to digitize the images! I'm loving this other dimension to photography that I've found, and the blending of traditional and digital photography satisfies me greatly.

While this old Kodak Signet isn't in the same league with the CV's, Leicas, and other legendary machines, it's a chance to hone my instincts and practice grab-shooting with the RF.

Regards!

Yes it was. On a film body this lens is spectacular, as you already know. Not an easy lens to use on the D200?

not for a first-time test. i'm not used to the crop factor. should've taken something wider, but it was fun once i got used to it.

I prepared last night my Rolleiflex 2.8D TLR. I loaded the camera with Ilford XP2Super film. I am now better understanding the narrow depth of field with this camera, and I will try to get sharp images even when using it handheld and wide open. I still don't know what I will be taking photos of. If all fails, I have my two daughters.

My plan is to "hit the rails" -

I plan on "riding the rocket" and shooting just about anything and everything - taking my M7 and M2 along with the fast normals (Nokton 35 f1.2, Nokton 40 f1.4 and Hexanon 50 f2 - ok.. so the 50 isn't "fast") and the slow wides and my table top tri-pod.

Should be fun to explore parts of the line I've never been on.. a one day pass should do me fine 🙂
