photography this (long) weekend

I am going to do some graveyard shooting tomorrow morning. A friend is into doing gravestone rubbings 😕 and I figured I would tag along.

I will be shooting digital though, trying out some new equipment: D50 with sigma 30/1.4. I am also bringing along a Tamron 90/2.5 macro (yes, I can manual focus, thanks to the Nikon DK-21M VF magnifier 🙂) with AI adaptall mount, and lightmeter.

The weather is supposed to be rainy and chilly in northern Virginia this weekend. I had planned to go camping in Shenandoah National Park, but postponed it. It would be better to go when it is not raining, and after the trees have started to exhibit fall colors (often gorgeous in the Shenandoah). I always take a camera when I go camping, for the scenery and general purposes.

Probably do some woodworking instead.

I have Reala in the Canon P and I'll be shooting nonstop with my J-3.

This weekend? With luck, I'll get some shots of my son, maybe a few fall color shots but I don't expect much. Though I'll admit that this expectation didn't keep me from buying several rolls of Reala earlier today 😉

Should I shoot the fall colors onto Kodak 100UC or Fuji Velvia 100F?

Fuji Reala... 🙂 Best color neg on the market and it'll do wonderful things for your fall color shots.

This came out to be quite a nice experience, in a different, spooky sort of way.

That's not what I have in my fridge. And wouldn't something with contrast and saturation be the best thing to use?

I don't really want to use the slide film because it takes a long time to get developed and can't be printed. And the projector that my grandmother gave me has a curved field. To bad, because I like the way my starved rock pictures that I captured on Velvia 100F turned out.
