Although I have an interest in the lens that finder is a monster. Im hoping that with Zeiss bringing out new 18 and 21mm lenses that perhaps they will bring out a new finder to go with them maybe a dual frame finder (which they have made before) with 18 and 21mm framelines and use the whole finder for 15/16. All in a reasonably sized finder.
what kind of "discreet" photography is anyone going to do with superwide angles? you're either up in someone's face to get decent magnification, far enough away that it doesn't matter, or not taking pictures of people at all.
The first shot makes my Nikon FTn look small!! Perhaps it doubles as a bluetooth antenna or an Anti-Theft device? In all fairness, it does double duty and works for film as well as digital frames. Kind of reminds me of an old Contax finder.
The M8 is a perfect camera to launch more custom finders (ala R4W). I wonder which frame line the new wide lenses bring up? What about having the 21 bring up the 50/135 frames (is that the 1st pair?)?
And it doesn't appear to rest on the top plate, which fills me with visions of it snapping off from the hotshoe with a good bump. Could probably be solved by glueing a piece of plastic to the base of it.
Aside from that I bet the view through it is quite good. It looks like Leica based the frameline projection system on that of the M rangefinder.
