Photos Done With Retina II Model 142

Great photos. I have two Retina cameras, a 1a and a IIa. The Ia was my first 35mm camera (1968). The IIa has a particular sharp Xenon F2 lens. In fact it is the sharpest lens in the camera closet. That is high praise as there are a few lens from Leica in the same closet. Having said that, I think I will load a roll of reala and the IIa and have a photography morning.

Thank you for your kind words. The week before I used a Retina II Model 014 loaded with Kodak Ultra Color ASA 100. The color is extremely vivid, Superia is much more natural. One of my sons preferred the Kodak, the other, the Superia. All a matter of taste I guess.
 
Those are beautiful shots! The clarity,definition, color and sharpness are all first rate. I have a Retina II, IIa (with the harder to find Heligon f/2), IIc, and a IIIc, and all take beautifully sharp pictures with excellent color. I tend to shoot with Superia as well, though usually with Superia 400. I hope you take more shots with your Retina and share more with us; they were a pleasure to view!

Great shots Wstrew!

I've got a Retina II (142) as well. I love it to bits, but it's developed a bit of trouble with the frame-locking mechanism, but it still produces some wonderfully crisp images. Even if I only get about 25 frames on a 36 exposure roll 😀

Here are my not so great pictures from my last outing with my Retina
I used Kodak BW400CN, except for the first two pictures in that gallery. I took those with a Speed Graphic and 405 holder.


I agree with Andy, I hope to see more of your pictures!
 
Rick, great series! I saw your post over on photo.net and was really impressed with those, especially the Brownie pictures. I'm glad you've posted these Retina II shots since I've just completed a roll from my Retina II (142), the first actually from this camera, so I'm interested to see how they turn out. If any are worthy, perhaps I'll post some.

I'm not quite pleased with the overal results of that last roll myself,
I've had better results with Adox CHS 100 ART about year ago at the LPLG-weekend. I posted some images of those images before;

A roll of Adox in a Retina II (except for the first 4, those were taken with a Kodak Medalist)

I not sure if it's down to the film or the people developing it.

Thanks for the comment on the box camera pictures. I find my brownies are fun to use and can produce handsome images. It took me a while to figure out the right film for the right settings and conditions. I'll post up some more photos next week, from a different classic camera.

I'm sure some of your shots will be post-worthy. I'm looking forward to seeing some more Retina Photos 🙂
