Thank you, dourbalistar. No, the girls aren't shot dead, they simply roll down the hill for fun.

I recently picked up a black FTn in great shape as a replacement for a black FT3 that took a hard fall on concrete and would cost more to repair than to replace. Also got a micro nikkor 55mm f3.5 to go w/ the FTn. Making test shots now and hope to post some results soon...

Must have been a pretty hard fall!
Look forward to seeing your results on the thread soon!

Must have been a pretty hard fall!I've never handled a FT3, but the FTn is one of the most solidly built cameras I have, heavy and substantial. The great thing with the Nikomat/Nikkormat cameras is that they are inexpensive to replace.

Thanks. Yes, the FT3 landed on the lower right corner. Bad dent, but more importantly the film advance doesn't work, and it would cost more to repair it than it was to buy the FTn (even though the FT3 before the fall was in beautiful condition with fully operational meter). Sigh.

I love the FT series; I have owned FT2 and FT3 models.
They are heavy, overbuilt and very reliable shooters.
Fortunately a jumpy meter needle may go away with regular repeated use.
The only feature I don't like is the shutter speed ring in the wrong place.
