Photos from your Nikkormat.

That’s a lovely portrait Erik. There is something very special about a picture that captures someone when they are thinking. It’s as if one is in touch with what they are thinking, even if one doesn’t know what they are thinking about. It’s as if one is aware of something that is happening in their minds at the time. I don’t see it in many portraits but when I do I always find it very powerful and very moving. The rest of the portrait is great too – the lighting, the composition and the background. It’s the sort of photo that one never tires of, that one keeps on the bookshelf for many years. Brilliant. Well done!

Thank you Pan, the picture is taken in the christmas holidays, I suppose on January 1 or 2 (1973) given the fireworks on the sidewalk.

Two of La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, from my ongoing rediscovery/recovery of some lost negatives from my younger days, all made with my first camera, a Nikkormat FT2 with a 43-86 Zoom. Sadly, that camera was lost or stolen, depending on the story my bother chooses to tell. Fortunately, I found a thrift store Nikkormat FTn a few years back, so I am happily part of the Nikkormat (sacred) family once again. These pictures were shot on Kodak Tri-X in 1979.

Nikkormat FT3 with Nikkor 50mm 2.0
1981 expired Plus-X
Camera & lens are fairly new to me...I wanted to see about the 2.0 lens...I can see now what the talk is all about...
The lens is now mounted on the F5, loaded with Agfa APX 100...

Haven't been on rangefinderforum in a while, this was my favorite thread here. A lot if Erik's posted images are now gone though (?) does anyone know how to get them back?

I shoot a set of cosina zeiss ZF glass these days but I miss my pre ai Nikkors.. they aren't the sharpest, they don't have the most 3D pop but they do have a "classic look" to them, warts and all. I sold the last one, a mint 55/1.2 last month. I won't be missing it because imo the weight is too much on an F2, but I think I will be getting a Nikkor-H 50/2 again.
