On a lark, picked up this 6 x 4.5 folder (circa 1949) from a UK auction and ran a test roll of FP4 through it. I'd read good things about the Ross XPres lens, this one is the f/3.5 75mm, four elements, I believe. Pretty satisfying for a few pounds out of pocket. Think I'll get it CLAd one of these days. (Attachments are scans of 7x9 prints made in my darkroom, sorry about the accumulated imperfections.)

Looks great! I enjoy using mine, especially the lovely Albada finder.
The price of the 820, the 6x9 version of the same range is currently rising very quickly.
Hope to read what you make of it after a couple more rolls.

Dave...

Do try a roll or two in colour. The 'red' should come out distinctively rich whilst retaining good shadow details with Fuji 160S (my favourite print film).

I think your darkroom work looks quite good, actually.

Hey, thanks! I'm coming up on one year in my basement darkroom, feeling reasonably confident and looking forward to another year of work. If I can just get the balance right: more film, fewer cameras. I'll keep these MF folders, though!
