Interesting photos, I like very much the lights and shadows play in the very first photo. A small camera, a good film, a good eye, a good recipe for good photos!
Being a "delta" user I have not experience with HP5. maybe I should give a try. Is it difficult to scan?

Robert, it dries fairly flat, although I still put it under a heavy book before scanning. It scans well.

Found another one of these in a junk store with the A11 attached, half a roll of film, and in the very hard to find suede leather pouch. Shot up the rest of the roll last evening, so I hope whatever is in there comes out as good as yours, Lynn.

I took my old XA out last weekend for the first time in perhaps 20 years. I just got a call from the camera store that my film is developed and ready for pick-up. It was an old roll of Kodak 400 color that sat in the camera 20 years, so I wonder what the results will be?

The film shot and developed very well. The guy at the camera store was pleasantly surprised that the film was old, because it didn't have any age fogging at all. Neither did the roll my daughter shot in her Minolta Hi-Matic 9.
(I wish I knew the secret to putting higher resolution pictures on this website. If anyone has a hint or procedure, please let me know.)

They look very nice Scott! To post a higher res photo, have you tried uploading to a hosting web site like Flickr, then linking the image here? I usually re-size and save pictures at between 800 and 1024 pixels on the long side at 72dpi in Photoshop, using whatever compression level keeps the image file size under 400Kb. I think you can link higher res and larger file sizes from Flickr: the RFF software will display them at 1024px width, but allowing you to click to see the larger version.

Yes, the small size does make it more difficult to assess, but at this size, at least, they certainly appear to be amazingly good for film which has been lying around for 20 years - and I presume that you weren't storing the XA in a freezer...?! 😉
Hope that you can sort out the problem with posting, as it would be interesting to see these larger.

Seeing these photos larger reminds me of the quaint old barrel distortion and slight vignetting that came with the extreme miniaturization of the lenses in this little camera.

The film didn't hold up as well as Scott's, but the storage conditions were not optimal. I found the camera in the barn like section of a roadside antique store, dumped in a pile of old Kodaks and such. The film door was rusted closed, and I had to gently pry it open to get the film out. It should clean up okay, but I won't be able to use it again until I replace the seals.
