Photoshop elements 3.0 B+W

Does anyone know if elements 3.0 will open R-D1 B+W files in color as does Photoshop CS? I want to set the R-D1 to B+W but have the option of recovering color when I process.

Remember, that trick only works if you're shooting in Epson raw format! If you shoot JPEG files, they'll stay grayscale no matter how you post-process them.

I don't know specifically about Elements 3.0 as I haven't seen it yet -- but if it can host the Epson raw plug-in (which I believe it can) you can recover the color version from raw files via settings on the plug-in.
