Nothing is what I want
I finally have money in hand to buy a serious printer. I shoot only black and white and scan with a Nikon scanner. So, what to get? I am not a big fan of Epson because of the non-replaceable heads, and the general ink usage. The 2400 is at least two years old, so it seems likely to be replaced with something better? I am tempted by the Epson 1800 with the Carbon Black MIS inks recommended by Paul Roark. But, we had an Epson 2200 go down real fast (clogged heads) with Cave Paint ink, so I'm a little shy about that alternative. I wanted to like the Canon 9500, but it seems to have a handful of problems that will be fixed in the next generation. So, I think I should wait on that one. I don't know much about HP, but I am willing to listen. Is there anything on the horizon that is a dedicated black and white with three or more black inks? All advice is appreciated.
