I still haven't decided if my Kiev is a 2 or not. The ZK lens is a great performer. I finally got the roll developed that I put in after the semi-CLA I gave it months ago. Some of the images are under exposed, but that is my fault and not the camera's or shutter issues. I am surprised that there are not light leaks. There is no yak string around the top plate. I did though, add a piece of black tape across the top plate above the shutter crate. Any rate, here are the three that I liked best out of the roll.

This is the reporter that I work with often. We were at the Hillary Clinton rally that President Clinton gave for her. Suspiciously, Hillary was not present🙄. Exposure was around 1/50th to 1/100th at f2.8 or so.

The next two are at my local chocolate cafe. A real test for the low light and wide open focus of the camera. I must admit that the focus appears to be spot on. In this first photo I was focusing on the lady speaking and it appears that she is indeed in focus.

The last is at Jazz night at Coco Flow. Again, the focus is the young man at the mike. He is about even with the microphone stand that is also in focus. He may have moved, but he still appears in focus.

I will let others debate the 'bokah' of the lens and such. All I know is that I like the lens and the camera. Now, ruben, I need to know the amount of tension that I should have on the shutter. Retentioning the shutter is the next step for this one. Winding and cocking the shutter is still a bit stiff, but smooth

Although this is a question for Ruben, I think I'm also experienced enough to answer. Having done 4 Kiev-4's my experience is that 6 revolutions is just about right. At 5 revs the upper curtain sometimes does not fully catch with the bottom curtain after the exposure, which might cause leaks during shutter cocking. 6 revs seems to solve this problem and it usually connects with the bottom curtain securely.

Keep in mind that this observation is based on Kiev-4's, which probably weren't as good finished as Kiev-2's. So you might need less revs to make the shutter work as designed.

I hope Ruben will add his experience, so we can discuss.

EDIT: Just to be more exact: the number of revolutions is counted when shutter curtains are in released position and the spring tension is fully released.

PS: I like the first and third picture the best. Seems you've got a great lens.
