here are some pics from my last trip.

i shot a lot of film, some on the XA and some on the ZI (mostly sunny f/16 + bracket). you can make out which is from which i think.

I had velvia, ektar and portra 400 with me. ektar is going to be my main film for 100 speed from now on. portra 400 is very nice, but I struggle to scan it correctly (color balance issues).

overall, quite happy with the results. my scanning is proceeding slowly, but so far I like my film pics better than my lx3 pics.

also note that most of my film stock went through scanners close to a dozen times at airport (hand carry) + monument security areas. i dont think i see any detrimental effects.

on a side note, my zi has been fixed, so things are good now. next in plan is acquiring a 50mm lens, maybe the 50mm f/1.5 sonnar :p

Those are nice photos and I am very envious about Tibet! I just backpacked China myself and we chose to visit Kashgar instead of Tibet. Perhaps next time.

Great to hear that the ZI is fixed so quickly. Hope the problem is a one off.

Nice set. Lighting in these high altitude places always seem so harsh.

Cheers,

despite the indubitable beauty of the place, I found your people shots more interesting and overall better, especially the first two, the man staring at you and the monks in the shadow.
I think I might tell you which film is which shot :)
