So I've got an unusual circumstance here...I re-covered my M8 with charcoal griptac and was very satisfied with it. But then I realized my camera had the "red line" problem, and shipped it off to Leica for service. They will, of course, have to remove the griptac, and said they'd re-cover it for free...with the old covering I hated. (Price for vulcanite "upgrade": $360!)
So I asked them to leave it bare, and when it returns, I will have to cover it again. Probably I'll just get the griptac a second time. But...maybe there's something else that looks/feels even better. If you've got a custom covering on your M8, esp. if it's silver like mine, I'd love to see a photo.

I have mine in the black griptac. I love the feel of it. But if I had to do it over again I'd probably cover it in black lizard skin, or maybe red. For the really striking look.
I want to cover my M9 in griptac when it comes in. But I'm terrified I'll have t send it in for something or an eventual upgrade and just have to repurchase it. The griptac is really the most practical of all coverings.
