I turned 50 today. Thought I should record my present state of entropy.

Post your auto portraits depicting yourself on a momentous or otherwise round-numbered birthday.

Most of my original parts are still attached and even functioning. Not a momentous day for me, but certainly a nice round number to contemplate. This is no great image, but when I'm 51, 60, 80, 100... it might remind of something that passed by unnoticed today. Glad to be alive and hoping for more of these silly anniversaries.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday even though most of it is gone. Sorry I didn't catch it earlier, bit I've an idea- extend your birthday celebration another day and enjoy it tomorrow!

http://thepriceofsilver.blogspot.com will bring you to my blog which has hundreds of self portraits as well as links to other sites with them. I shot my first one with an Olympus Pen on Kodachrome II back in 1962. I just posted another self portrait on my blog, showing the one I used on my ASMP press card years ago.

Happy Birthday! I'll hit 67 come November 9th.

Al, having visited your blog in the past, I have to tell you that I love your inimitable style using the 15 to place yourself, Zelig-like, in so many settings, right in the heat of the action. I will have to take another look to see the Al Kaplan of 1962. I'd have an easy time picking you out of crowd, given how much of you I've seen. I think your blog is great.

BTW, I never followed up on your thread where you reconnected with a model you shot 40 years earlier. How did that work out?

Thanks for the b-day greeting. (I'm not fishing for them; in fact, I've always hesitated to tell anyone when my birthday is. This year, for some reason, I figured I try to behave like most people do and actually share the moment.)

The 1962 self portrait was posted on http://thepriceofsilver.blogspot.com on November 18, 2006, titled "The Very First Time -In 1962" Go to the blog, go to November 2006, and scroll down.

So far nothing has come of getting together again with that model. If it happens it should be a fun shoot!

The blog is the most fun thing I've done in years! I'm having a ball with it. There's really no common thread. Everything from photos and stories (and a few naked chicks) from my younger days to current commentary on local politics brought to you via Monkette, my toy monkey. Monkette just loves going to advisory board and city council meetings.
