I like the shot of the BMW in the alleyway - got a real 1970s quality about it. I'm trying to work out wherabouts in the city you took the picture, can you recall?

Hi Rustysheepdog,

From what I recall, a little further along you come to a crossroads (lots of those in Glasgow) and on the other side of the road is a terracota coloured clock tower with an archway and a footpath through it.

Hope this sounds familiar and yes, the BMW is my fav'. I think there's something Parisienne about it.

Hello, I like the 3rd and the 5th shot, they convey the city Glasgow as a city with a slightly dark, sinister tone. Which I didn't see in other photos, what is your glasgow? what is it like?

By the way, if you want to go to somewhere really unsafe, try Cessnock, I feel unsafe just walking with M6 at daylight...

I don't actually live in Glasgow. I just visited for several days, though I found it very safe and tidy (mostly). A lot of the `old` glasgow has been torn down though there are still traces of the `past`. These are the parts I prefer.

Where is Cessnock. Sounds Ex-Soviet to me.

The pictures were taken as DNG's. They were done in Photoshop, converted with B&W then I added a B&W preset I made that basically reduces the Blue to a minimum, reduces the red by half and increases the Yellow & Green slightly and finally adds a small pinch of Blue tint. Uhmm, delicious.🙂

It's down near the trongate, the alley is beside an arcade full of slot machines. I've walked past that BMW a few times, wishing I could get a photo of it from a better angle.

I hope I didn't offend your charismatic city. I tried to portray it in a varied light, rather than the rundown, booze driven metropolis more usually banded about. Hope I succeeded?

Surprised and impressed was how I left Glasgow, though one particular eatery has no idea how a chicken ceasar chiabatta should taste (hurls down the big white telephone).😱

I do like bw (also bmw 😉 but for some reason I'd like to see the first and the 2 last pictures in colors..

For the first I somehow feel it would give it a more "painting" like feeling and for the 2 last (without any better insight) I see a possibility for some crazy vivid colors, which I also like. 🙂

The beemer foto is great as is, but the other 2 images don't do much for me. Nothing wrong with them as such, but just don't awake any strong feelings.

Haha you didn't offend Glasgow at all, and yes your pictures are a bit different from what is usually thought of as being 'typical' of Glasgow, though it's hard to gain a feeling of a place from only 6 photos. The shots of the BMW and mattresses are pretty good. I can't recommend many of the eateries in Glasgow, but it is a varied and interesting city to live in and visit.
