No complaints about the G1, I actually prefer it to the G2. The glass is right up there with the best in the 35mm world.

Sadly mine's taken a back seat to MF lately.

Athough I no longer have one, the Contax G2 was the camera that almost put me off rangerfinders for life. The 3 things that I hated about this camera were the small viewfinder; the shutter delay due to having to focus from infinity everytime - even when in manual focus mode; and no way to know exactly what focus was locked onto... Having said that, when it worked, it worked very well :bang:

I like the Contax G quite a lot. These three all with the 35mm Planar...

That's funny, I use a T3 and by comparison the T3 moves the lens into focus slower and has no indication of distance in the viewfinder (unlike the G). Despite all that I can rely on it 100% and know if the focus is right (when I look on the top lcd)...I really don't get this confusion about where the G focuses when it gives you the exact distance in the viewfinder...

I guess it's all personal preferences

I really like my G2. It stays loaded and ready for use. Usually with the 45/2 Planar mounted.
