I was driving around Rocky moutain national park and to Aspen as well. I wish I could have been there 10 days earlier to see more colors.

I was using the film 1 mode, ISO 200 and auto Whitebalance most of the time. Very satisfied with the results and will stick to them as default setting in future.

The 24 elmarit asph is cropped with 1.53 and seems good for reportage and snapshots. But maybe I should consider 15 CV on my R-D1s:(

I also took my MP+35 summicron asph along during the trip and loaded with Kodak 100GX. Yesterday I got the developed film and carefully inspected through a 6* loupe. Compared with these images made on slide film, R-D1s performance is also outstanding.

Some very nice pictures! Good to see you are enjoying your new purchase. The 15mm is a good consideration. It's really fun to use.

Cheers,

Good travel pics. I also have a R-D1s and like its film-like quality. But sometimes I found that the camera will stop working in cold weather. Also the battery run out quite fast. Not sure if it has happened in yours. Also, did you use "A" mode most of the time or manual exposure?

Hi Edho,

I experienced 5F (-15C) on the summit of Pikes Peak (about 4200m) and my R-D1s worked perfectly. As to the battery, you are right coz it runs out after taking 190-200 pics or so. I bought another general battery from ebay as a backup.

I am sticking to Automatic mode on exposure and will compensate a little bit if needed.

Very nice pictures! I like your pictures from Colorado! Great to see what you can squeeze out of that Epson! Keep em coming, buddy! :)
