Hi all,
Michael B. is going to be back in town towards the end of August, and I mentioned we should make a trip to Pier 24. The exhibit is free, but you must make reservations (only 20 slots available for each 2 hour window).

Let's shoot for August 30th in the 3:15-5:15 time slot, and hope folks can leave work early and make it. I'll bump this thread on July 30th to remind all who can make it to sign up on their website (http://pier24.org/exhibition/current.html). It fills up fast.

Beer or other fizzy beverages before and after, somewhere.

Everyone is sure to like sure to like all or at least part of this big show. It's not so much a visual meal as a whole menu or even a grocery store. IMO overwhelming!

Embarrassing moment: I stared and stared at the costume and makeup detail in Sugimoto's Henry VIII series - and then a friend reminded me they're pictures of wax figures from Mme Tussaud's!

cool....Thursday, August 30th works for me or basically anytime/anyday that most of you guys are free.....my schedule is pretty open for the week that I will be in S.F. and I would like to meet up with some of you guys.......look at some photos, have some drinks and share some stories....

cheers, michael

Hi Michael,
I'm interested in going. I just checked the Pier 24 booking system. Turns out we can't make a reservation sooner than 30 days before the desired date. So let's jump on it on July 30.

"... can somebody please sign me up?"

Everyone has to make an individual booking. They make group bookings only for school classes.

(Strange place: Free, which is very democratic. But they're open only on week days, not weekends - no access for the dirty ol' working classes.)

Michael B- The Cindy Sherman show will also be at the SF MOMA during your visit, should be terrific.

OK, thanks for that info....I'll get in contact with MikeL before July 30th and figure out how we can all book (sign-up) as a group so we can all go together.......

Hello Reese, Vesuvio's is always an option if you want to meet up with us :)

I'll check out the Cindy Sherman show for sure, I have nothing really to do for one week in S.F. except take photos and see friends......

cheers, michael

ok cool....I am in the states now and I will sign up on the 30th.....just one question

is this the time and date that we are going to book for (August 30th in the 3:15-5:15 time slot)?

if so let me know.....I am in Florida at the moment and need to figure out the time difference and call early so we can all go together.......

cheers, michael

ok, I just checked out the info and it gives 3 different options to book from

"To make an appointment please choose from the following:
Individuals, Museum Groups, Academic Institutions"

are we going to book as "individuals" ?

I imagine the answer is "yes' but I just want to make sure....I am going to call first thing Monday morning (9:00 am) and book, I would just like to make sure that we all book for the same time......

cheers, michael
