Thanks for the comments everyone. On the pricing, I think he made a mistake. As I said, I've had some rolls d&p'd and d&s'd and the price was the same for both - you either have prints or a scan. If it was a case of having both prints and a CD then sure, I'd have paid extra. And as I said, I'm willing to pay a little more for this service than I will in the big stores because I'd like the little store to be open when I want to get a used lens or maybe even update a whole system. In fact, a different local independent camera shop has had a considerable amount of money from me in the past and their customer service is excellent. But I wasn't in their neighbourhood today.

But let's not get hung up on a few quid. The guy acted like a numpty and has lost any possibility of me spending any money on anything at his shop. He's fairly senior by the way, maybe even the owner, I'm not sure. He's not a wet-behind-the-ears, spotty, pubescent teen, although he does a bloody good impression of one.

Was he snowed under with work or were you demanding 30 minute processing and scanning?!? 😛 😀

It's strange really, in a time where less and less people are getting C41 films processed, this guy must have been in an absolutely foul mood to have turned work away and cost himself money by ripping up the envelope (not a lot of money for sure, but...).

Sure, I'll head over to LA, but for the price of that wash, you'd be able to buy some pretty nice glass... 😉
