Hi all,

Just got a Canon 7. Looks OK but the vertical adjustment is out. Can anybody suggest a source for the pin-wrench necessary to take the cover to the adjustment screw off?

I've checked Small Parts and they don't seem to have one. Websters talk about using stiff tweezers as a workaround, but that seems to be responsible for the marring I see on that part in many cameras.

Appreciate any pointers to safer equipment options. Thanks

I took a cheap jeweler's screwdriver with a blade wide enough to span the two holes, then filed a notch into the middle of the blade. This left two points that I shaped so they fit into the holes. It took a bit of time, but now I have exactly the tool I need.

You can speed up this process by using a tiny abrasive wheel on a hand-held grinding tool (e.g. Dremel) instead of a file. If you do it this way, wear eye protection!

I bought a box of Excelite 1/8" screwdrivers dirt cheap on eBay, and have filed several into tools of this sort. But I just used a pair of tweezers to open that port on my 7s, it's not very tight.
