I got it in my head that I needed a camera for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day (28 April, in case you're wondering), so I built one (well, sort of).

I have to say I'm rather pleased with the results.

A brownie 620 w/ the lens remove and a pin hole.. What material did u use to make the pin hole. I have tried very thin copper sheet that I have pressed as thin as possible.

Interesting shot

How did the .010 stock work for you? I understand that you want the sheet relatively thin, but I thought getting a clean hole was a more important factor. I'm still trying to understand the finer points.

It was ok. But I had a hard time getting a perfect round hole because of the thickness.. I saw yours and thought I might be due to thinner starting stock.

Could be. What did you use to punch the hole? I took the time to actually drill it by hand with a pin vice and a tiny drill bit (usually used for scale modelling and such). I was afraid that a needle would both deform the metal around the hole and be difficult to get clean edges with.

Did the needle approach. It did not provide a good round hole, plus I ended up sanding down the dimple it caused. 🙁

I think I need to go to a hobby store and check out that drill bit. I did not know they made it that size..

You can check online as well. I suspect there are plenty of suppliers. For reference, I used a #79; the bits get smaller as the numbers get higher. They'll likely come in sets with a range of maybe 20 different sizes. Make sure you get a pin vice as well (if you don't buy a set that comes with one) and be gentle with them, as they are pretty fragile.

Good luck with it. I'll be curious to see how it turns out.

Thanks for the info...😀. I will post to this thread when I have something. Right now I have a backup of 120 rolls of film to develop and scan. I got real lazy 🙁
