Pinwide for m43

Sort of -- we actually recess the pinhole into the camera, giving it a wide angle FOV. If you just put a pinhole in a normal body cap, you'll get a "normal" (50mm equiv or so) FOV. Ours is 11mm (22m equivalent).

Also, with a relatively small sensor, the aperture size, shape and depth really drastically change the results. We've done months of research to come up with the ideal size and material. The result is a perfectly round pinhole that gives you a sharper and "cleaner" overall image than the homemade variety.

When we look back at our first homemade prototype and compare it to our latest revision, it's pretty shocking what a difference it makes!

I was about to start a new thread about you guys when I run on this discussion..

Do you know what is the actual distance between the sensor and the pinhole?

The combo seems exciting, maybe this is one more good excuse to jump on the m43 wagon...

Will you bring it Europe side any time soon?

@ Ben Syverson :
Hi, I've got a chinese M39 pinhole I've bought 20$ on the bay for my Epson R-D1 - I used it too with a M39 > M43 adaptor on my GH1 - and I really don't like the results!
Why yours will be different? as I can see on your website gallery, results are blurry and grainy - more or less the same the awful results I obtained with the chinese one.

Hey guys, the focal length is 11mm, meaning the pinhole is 11mm from the sensor.

@gekopaca: If you're not into the Pinhole aesthetic, the Pinwide will probably not appeal to you either. But our results are superior to the existing pinhole caps on a lot of levels. Pinwide gives you a wider FOV. It gives you the absolute optimum aperture size for µ4/3, as determined by both calculations and extensive testing. The pinhole itself is etched and perfectly round, which improves color, contrast and sharpness when compared to laser drilled, mechanically drilled or other less sophisticated apertures.

Obviously pinhole will never be as sharp as a lens -- that's not the point. And pinhole on µ4/3 will never be as sharp as pinhole on 35mm or 4x5 -- that's just physics. Diffraction limits us. However, I think we've come pretty close to the look and feel of analog pinhole, and that's what we're excited about!

Here are some images showing the level of sharpness we've been able to achieve.

Is the PinWide still available? I'd like to get my hands on one of these.

Here is the image I took this year using a Wanderlust pinhole body cap on my micro 4/3 camera.

I prefer the image quality I get with my 4x5 pinhole film camera but the Wanderlust on a digital camera is so much faster and easier to use.

It's not as wide but there is a pinhole body cap for M4:3 available for about $11 on ebay. It's diameter is .2 mm and the focal length would be about 20mm giving it an angle of view about the same as a 40mm lens on a full frame camera.

Just do an ebay search for 'm4/3 pinhole body cap'

I have several pinhole gizmos. On FourThirds format, the one I enjoy the most is a Skink Pinhole intended for the Olympus E System DSLRs. Fitted with a Micro-FourThirds mount adapter, it becomes something like a 70-80mm pinhole and produces some lovely stuff when my brain fires into its peculiar viewpoint on the world.

From a few years back, shooting with it on an Olympus E-PL1 (since deceased):

Fun stuff!

Thanks for the recent replies, some cracking images too!
Great shame about the Wonderlust PinWide, but hey-Ho, I'll have a look for the Skink.
