Are there still any Plaubel Makina users out there?
i still own a wide model, sold my normal one years ago....

I have the W67. Bought it new when they came out and put my Leica on the shelf. I used it heavily for many years. It is a little beat up but has held up well. I am currently experimanting with digital, so it too is on the shelf. If I go back to film, it will be to medium format, not 35.

By the way- Do you know of any good place to have these serviced in the US?

gns,
yep thats the one that i am keeping now.
I did hear there is a place in New York City own by a Korean family who does service to the Makina but I haven't tried contacting them when I was in the US,
I am not sure where to get it serviced now in the US as I don't live in the States anymore; however, I did once FED-EX my normal model (80/2.8) to their Germany factory for service and it came back like mint. of course it was really expensive and that was years ago.....

i hardly use it nowadays, its just parked quietly inside my drybox...its role has been taken over by the Mamiya 6, MP, and TX-1......

No, but I would love to have one. They seem to be fairly pricey still (ebay average is about $1200); but the 6x7 format, compactness and superb Nikon lens seems to be sweet sweet things to have. Images I've seen on the net look fabulous. I've heard the biggest problem with them is that the wires for the metering tend to wear out over time due to the opening and closing of the bellows, and that the only place you can get this fixed is in Deutchland!Alice, do you have any shots you can post/have posted in the gallery?

cheers,

C.
