😕 Hi All;

I have a 35mm F3.5 Elmar (LTM), and I'm wondering if there are any newly manufactured, aftermarket lens hood designs available for it? And is it possible to put a U.V. filter on it?

Ebay sellers photo_widget and old_cam both have hoods and filters to fit the 36mm push on size. They are sure to be cheaper than the original Leitz items.

I have the same lens and found it's hard to find a Series hood that will work with a 35mm rather than a 50mm lens. I came upon the proper Leitz FOOKH hood once, but at a sky-high price of course.
What I did was stack a number of black Series 6 retaining rings on a 36mm push-on adapter. The number of rings depends on their thickness -- I read somewhere that the FOOKH hood is 17mm deep. The Series 6 diameter appears much the same as the FOOKH. (A Series 6 UV filter will fit between the push-on adapter and the first retaining ring.)
The inside of the rings will be shiny, but a little abrasive powder on a Q-tip will take the shine off.

It's quite possible to find a FIKUS adjustable hood at a reasonable price, at the most collapsed setting it's fine for the 35/3.5 Elmar. A few rare ones are even so marked.

It's also fine on 50/2 Summar, 50/3.5 Elmar, 90/4 Elmar, 135/4.5 Hektor -- a generally handy device.
