All,

Andy just closed submissions to my post-processing challenge (http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159122 - thanks, Andy !).

I received a total of 38 submissions, I like all of them and it's very hard to pick a single winner. Like most things in photography, also for Post Processing, much of the output is determined by personal taste - and impossible to judge objectively.

So I picked 6 very subjective favorites, among which I have a hard time choosing a winner. I decided to ask the community to help me with the final pick, so if you read this thread, please participate in this short poll. Which of the following 6 landscapes do you prefer (please remember, there is a lens at stake :) ) ?

1)

Thanks to everybody who spent time on this, and submitted their work (to their student to judge !). And thanks in advance for participating in this quick poll (I'll leave it open for 3 days).

Best,

Roland.

Love them all... Great set of Finalists

Funny for a Girl that only shoots in b&w , I ended up going with a Color photo finalist ... #1 for it's subtlety !

I'd be proud to have taken any of these, but I tried to imagine which one I would want hanging on my wall. A tough call between #1 and #4, but I went for the latter.

Great competition by the way.

I like the colors in number 1, but all except number 5 look really fake to me. Lots of things are different in these variations, so I'm not sure if any of them are even photographs. More like photo illustrations or something. Could you post your original image?

I voted for #1, which looked the most natural and the most pleasing visually of the six. This scene also worked very well in B&W, and #4 was a very close second place for me.

Very nice images.

Everyone did a fantastic job. I normally like b&w but picked a color photo. Love the dramatic skies in #1.

seems that I am in the majority though pride myself of being in the vast minority on most things in life, 1/4 or 4/1, and voted for 1.

Please have a look at the OP of http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159122. The raw files are still there.

BTW - somebody asked - I think it's totally OK for people to vote on there own file (once that is :) ).

#1.

I didn't like 2, 5, and six because the light in the original photo was ugly and harsh, and no post processing can fix that.

I didn't like #4, it looks oversharpened. Too bad, the image had a lot of potential in black and white.

I chose #1 over #3, despite the fact that the color in #3 was probably more natural. I felt that #1 was a little too warm and #3 a little too cool. In the end, I preferred the warm version.

All images look good to me, but I favored in the end Nr. 4, This is a great "game" that Roland has put together for RFF members.

They are all nicely done. # 4 has just that wee bit of TriX and TMax look for me in B/W. Good Luck too all of you.

difficult to vote since my favorites, mine :) , are not included
of the one's shown I choose No. 2

Voted #1 though the clouds don't match the lighting perfectly.

#6 was a close second but the blue tone used on the mountains in the background was too far off what I expect. It did feel a bit like a Cokin filter was use, but not too much.

Good work all, thanks for sharing!
