Hello everbody. I just bought a secondhand G2. When I push the release button halfway, the shutterspeed indicator starts blinking. I have not switched on my AEL. The button on the back gives me the same time-read out of the exposure meter, but then it does not blink at all.
Are my settings wrong? I supose that the blinking means something is wrong. I can't find anything in the manual about this...

Well, the shutter speed display in the viewfinder should blink when you use AEL (p.134). Though I have not found the following in the manual, it might also blink to warn of slow shutter speeds. I don't know... the on/off/AEL switch could be confusing - are you SURE you didn't turn it to the AEL position thinking it was the regular ON position? Really reaching, here, sorry!

Don't worry. All it means is that the previous owner changed Custom Function 1 from the default "0" to "1" (see page 174 of your manual). When you set Custom Function 1 to 1, you lock the shutter speed when you push the release button 1/2-way (exact same thing as engaging the AEL switch). I like this option & have my G2 set to operate this way.
