Hello everbody. I just bought a secondhand G2. When I push the release button halfway, the shutterspeed indicator starts blinking. I have not switched on my AEL. The button on the back gives me the same time-read out of the exposure meter, but then it does not blink at all.
Are my settings wrong? I supose that the blinking means something is wrong. I can't find anything in the manual about this...
thank you

Well, the shutter speed display in the viewfinder should blink when you use AEL (p.134). Though I have not found the following in the manual, it might also blink to warn of slow shutter speeds. I don't know... the on/off/AEL switch could be confusing - are you SURE you didn't turn it to the AEL position thinking it was the regular ON position? Really reaching, here, sorry! :)

Don't worry. All it means is that the previous owner changed Custom Function 1 from the default "0" to "1" (see page 174 of your manual). When you set Custom Function 1 to 1, you lock the shutter speed when you push the release button 1/2-way (exact same thing as engaging the AEL switch). I like this option & have my G2 set to operate this way.
