the need for speed
this was mentioned in another thread but i thought i'd start it anew on its own so more people would hopefully join in!
please share your favourite lens, including reasons why (bokeh, sharpness, draw, character, handling, whatnot) and images that show it off. if it is an older lens, please include the version and/or year for others possibly interested in the same. also of interest would be if you primarily shoot b/w or colour.
if you have favourites at different focal lengths, the more the merrier! (it would also be much appreciated if you go into other lenses that you may have used that are similar but no cigar.)
thank you in advance!
best regards,

kshapero,
It nice how the colours of those two shots compliment each other. Looks like a nice sharp lens.

thank you all for sharing (and taking pity on me)!
i know i am disgustingly enthusiastic, but i'm loving every nuance of the various lenses. i just received the 8 element Cron and am madly in love with it already even if i've yet to take it outside (it's raining).
i really would like to educate myself as i'm light years behind you all in glass education and want to know when to snap up a lens if i have a chance... i can pretty much tell immediately now if i like one or not, but it's nice to know what a lens is capable of in the bigger scheme of things.
keep them coming!
eta: maybe i should ask for examples from ALL your lenses, so i can judge what looks right to me... game, anyone?

questions thus far on framelines used:
John, you use the 35 with your 40mm, no?
and Akiva, do you use an external finder or just use the full frame with the 25mm?

Cam, I find the 35 frame lines are just about perfect for a 40mm.

This is from my rd1s and a 40mm rokkor. I like the little Minolta. It fits well for me in lots of ways.

Jeff, is that Ultron shot infrared? Or is it autumn and the leaves are very light coloured?

As I just got my R-D1s for less than a month, it might be too early to say which my favorite lens is on it. Yet I'll just share my opinion anyway.
I used to think that the Nokton 35/1.2 was my favorite lens. It still is, as it's the only 35 I've got, the only prime lens on the R-D1s. Yet recently I took a few shot with the Leica Elmarit M 90/2.8 with the R-D1s and found that I preferred the more natural color rendering and the "just-right" contrast it delivered on the R-D1s.
The Nokton 35/1.2 is a great lens, don't get me wrong. It has more contrast and a stronger color rendering that are very good for a more "modern" color photo. It's just that when I want the "Leica flavor" in a photo, I know that I'll just have to step back and reach for the Elmarit 90/2.8.
And that's why a Summicron 35/2 IV (7 elements) is on its way....

My head really seems to turn w/ the 85,90 point of view
I seem to be pulling away from Wide
