Hello.
I have the Plustek 7600i SE, Silverfast is not really living up to how I remember it. I own Vuescan, but that requires a Plustek driver which doesn't seem to exist? On the Plustek site, the only drivers I can find are for Windows.
I've hunted on the discs that came with the scanner, nothing there either.
Anyone know where they are?
Cheers.

Ahh, Vuescan 64bit seems to be the problem, 32 bit works.

I ended up using Vuescan...

I may look again, Silverfast is proving to be very complex and noisy.

I thought Silverfast acts as the driver on the Mac.

Appears not, or maybe it does and it's only 32bit, hence Vue 32bit works. That would make sense actually.

Sorry, I must be really thick. I get a similar warning ("wasn't able to find a 32-bit Intel plugin for this scanner.").
How do you distinguish between 64bit and 32bit Vuescan? All versions of Vuescan I've downloaded, open and run as 9 x32 (9.0.71) -- there doesn't seem to be a way to choose between 64 and 32 bit. Thanks for any help!

oh... The 32 and 64bit Vuescans are different... separate downloads. You must select the correct version upon downloading.
There are also updated Mac versions of Silverfast. I assume that the drivers are installed with the software.

Thanks so much! Turns out I had everything I needed before I posted. Just didn't notice the very important "open with Rosetta" option. Now that it's going properly Vuescan is sooooo much nicer than Silverfast.

I plugged the 7600i SE and download 64-bit version, Vuescan can't locate the film scanner, keep asking for 64-bit Intel plugin, no sure how to go about it. any thoughts?

VueScan found a Plustek 7600i, but wasn't able to find a 64-bit Intel plugin for this scanner. Try downloading a 64-bit Intel driver for this scanner from www.plustek.com. To try to use the 32-bit Intel plugin, click on the VueScan icon while holding the control key, choose 'Get Info' and check the 'Open in 32-bit mode' box.
