With taxes, the plustec is about $500.00 Canadian and the epson v600 is half the price at around $250.00 Canadian. For srictly 35 mm, how many times better IQ wise is the plustec over the epson v600 ? Is the Plustec worth an extra $250.00? Thanks

I have a Epson V700 and could not get a good scan of 35mm Slide or print film, I talked to epson, up loaded new software and nothing helped so I got a Plustek Optic Film 7500I
and am very happy with it. The V700 is good for Negatives 120 to 8x10 and and also glass
plates and photos.
Due to the above problems I would stay away from the Flat Bed for any 35MM Film.

I have a 7600i and like it very much. Also have a high-end Canon flatbed that is good for 120 but much worse for 35mm than the Plustek. Flatbed scanners simply are not for 35mm.

The EPSON V700 does pretty well here, or not?

I think a big plus of the EPSON is that it will scan ~24 frames in one pass whereas with the Plustek you have to advance every frame by hand and reload the holder for each strip.

Even the PlusTek 7300 does a great job for me (I'm as satisfied with my neg scans as those from the lab's Noritsu).
