Pocket digital camera recommendation

here's my vote, Olympus XZ-2. Bright lens starting at f1.8-2.5 is very much appreciated. It has 1/1.7 sensor. But the best thing about the camera is control. Great combo of lens ring wheel and Fn buttons at front. Give it a try.

yes, this camera sets itself apart from its competition in that none can offer the combination of:

1.8-2.5 for the zoom range;
that range going from 28-112mm, making it extremely useful;
fully automatic, but also manual control in lens ring for two different functions at the flip of the front lever that covers aperture control/zoom/ss/manual focus/exposure comp etc;
flip hinged lcd that allows for touch/focus/shutter fire making it one of the most discreet stree shooters out there.
